The October Before November | Dated 2017G Oct 8 Sun 17 Muharram 1439H |

This Oct is going to be a very long month, but very short in time. Come Nov, the chill would be all over the organs. The start was quiet, bracing in all places, as reflected by the posts which are rather historical. 
Asri's count down began with his school Graduation Day. 2017 Oct 5 Thu 14 Muharram 1439H, in Bangi Golf Resort, in the afternoon, after the morning class. Alas, among F5 and the teachers. 
NA was at home-weekend Oct 5-7 Thu-Sat, with her meeting in DBP on Fri about the LAW COMPETITION she was in the oraganising committee for the BAR since last year. I took her to DBP, but just dropped her. I have forgotten when was the last time I visited DBP. During my young days, as early as my student days, DBP was a close place, and many people in DBP were my acquaintances, at least close to my retirement. One I remembered vividly was one night in 1989 Sep, when I was with colleagues on KBSM-F2, my brother NUM came in search of me to tell me that our mother had passed on, just like in 1972 Mar in SRK Kg Pandan, En Rasani came to see me bringing the message from Sg Way Police Station, that my father had passed on. I could have dropped by to hi, at least one I knew still there, and is making his career in DBP.

A picture of two books, with a million of words, the story of which is not just a history. Remembering 1972 Oct, the start of my College life during undergraduate time in UKM in Sect 16 PJ. It was a bumpy start though, in the path to the destiny.

I had some experiences in being in an autumn of October. The frolic-ful of summer that was leaving, and the chilly-cold winter that was coming. In particular the autumn of 1979, et seq, which more or less was 'fixed' from that of 1974, and the following.

The PT3 exam began Oct 9 Mon for a week, the reminder to ASRI for his SPM next month, early November. ASRI's PT3 in 2015 was occluded with the Wedding in Sep end, but I was with him in Sg Merab when the exam commenced Oct 12 Mon 28 Z-Hijjah 1436H, the whole week, and when the results were announced Dec 14 Mon 2 R-Awal 1437H, with ALYA throughout. Many years ago, in 1966 Oct, I sat for my SRP, the pre-pre-predecessor of PT3, in my school Padang Midin, K Terengganu, with the results that took me away from my home into the path of my destiny, as it's today. 
NA was in Sg Merab home for the weekend Oct 12-14 Thu-Sat, in conjunction with her meeting in Bangsar, in which she implicitly prepared the 'inheritor' along for the eventuality. |

A DRVTGG in Merc on Oct 16 Mon 25 with ASRI for his last frolic before the eventual SPM in Nov early, in Merc to test its 'virality' after so long had not been on the h-way, in anticipation the cold-start syndrome would be fixed. It was in the late evening. And thus the night cruise was uninterrupted. 
A half day popped-in in W-TENGAH home, Oct 18 Wed, a Malaysia break of Deepavali, had made some differences. The perimeter was weeded off. ASRI helped proactively. And NA presence nucleated it, as of from last visit, Sep 2 Sat. 
Asri's last 'frolic' was in UKM's Kompleks Dewan Salleh, Oct 21 Sat 30 Muharram 1439H, he said a focus on BM. In fact it was for this event that we dashed in DRVKUL last Thu, otherwise we would have stayed a few days more in TGG so that we could tend to the W-Tengah home. Nonetheless in both DRV, WFV performed satisfactorily, even in TRG. Perhaps it was that it needed to be taken around as often as possible to get it vitalised. WIRA had been staying in TRG since BKD was acquired, in Dec mid, last year 2016. And never failed to a receptive welcome every time we are in TGG. |
And a lot of driving was made during the short stay in TRG. A round trip to Kemaman on Tue. A round trip to Jerteh on Wed. And eventually DRVKUL on Oct 19, Thu, nearly a reverse of Mon DRVTGG, time-wise as well as route-wise. And that was after a quick impromptu climb for a couple of kilos of DUKU in Paya Datu while stopping over taking ASRI to see his grandma before the SPM.

October is the convocation month of the local Universities. Last September was the registration month for the new intake 2017. Ostensibly FB was flooded with the img of celebration. Notably KUZA, in a royal occasion with parades of arrays of elegant regalia. Wondered the invisibility of some, although some of them were expected. The post et seq just passed on. My intuition is simple. They don't have any idea at all what the graduates in the past experienced in a dream becomes a reality. They have only the idea of a true dream, i.e. unable to become a reality. And that also explained the reason for all the mega-celebration in the race among the Universities during the convocation. 
NA was in Sg Merab Home during the weekend Oct 27-29 Fri-Sun from her Meeting in the BAR. So did ALYA-FARHAN Oct 26-27 Thu-Fri, returning from a week vacation in Maldive, and off to their place in JB. Et seq was an extract from 2005-2006 presence in SESERI.

Highlighting some of the things around, in BANGI, a sleezy town with many unique attributes since its inception in the 1970's to now. The vicinity of Jalan-6 (strictly speaking is Section-6C) used to be the hub of BANGI where Tue, Thu and Sat evening bazaar were the focus of the 'indigenous'. Of late the peripherals are more 'developed', transforming the town into more and more similar to other new towns development. Nonetheless Jalan-6 maintained the status quo, of being local (sic). And the evolution continues.

Nov 2 Thu 13 Safar 1439H, my 13-th Datuk 'conferment', of MALINI, her 5-th, another contending boy. And NA's second, she admittedly said. 
Noted that posting in the FB among "FREN" are scarce now. GOOD. They may have realised that it's a waste of time, or merely BORING. Hopefully they have realised that it's also a waste of money with the monthly DATA fees that they pay to the TELCO. All this while it was because of the self-esteem out of the responses from the 'readers'. Once no body care any more what one posted in FB, the postings deswelled very fast like a bursting ballon. Those who stayed, opted by sharing which increased the don't care. Or those who have the financial interest in the advertisement. Good. Hopefully the history of B-SPOT is being repeated. It would not make them understand to explain that all these while they have been duped by the ICT-ers in their money making ploy of FB posting. The next BORING thing that would take place is the WASAP which is the portable version of FB. With every one in every group posting the same thing to the same group, especially the video of copy-paste type, making one receiving the same thing multiple times, especially the video which consumed the costly data, boring would set in, hopefully fast. Just wait. ASRI's LAST SCHOOL DAY was Nov 3 Fri after which for the rest of Nov, going to school would be on the days of the SPM paper only. That last Fri school days was for the MURID-GURU solemn reunion. Asri first day in SMKJ2 was 2012 Dec 31 Mon, in F1 (Amanah), completing 5 years like Muzani did. 
Nonetheless, an 11-th hr drive was organised by the school, Nov 4 Sat in FST, UKM. Perhaps another usual talk-show. It was in the complex that didn't exit during my last time in UKM ten years ago. On taking Asri to the place, I passed by the CHEMISTRY where my ghost is residing. And detoured to DAM at he back around which I usually parked my car. The last time I was here was more than 10 years ago, in Jun 2007. Noted how old the place was, and appeared like an unblessed, and haunted. BTW it was Sat, at 7-30 no human soul was seen around. Never mind any body that knew me.

It's the bell, SPM 2017 started Nov 6 Mon 16 Safar 1439H. And in ASRI's case to end Nov 30 Thu. NA made to be at home during the first day. ALYA incidentally was on her MSc Degree conferment in UPM, Nov 7 Tue. Both preceded with a home weekend. 
The SPM was with an interlude of ALYA's MSc degree conferment in UPM's 41-st Convocation, Nov 7 Tue, the last session of 8 since Sat. 
And NA having a good time in being the co-CM in Pertandingan Perbicaraan Mahkamah Olok-Olok, in USIM, Nov 11-12 Sat-Sun, organised by BAR-DBP-USIM, the second time she involved. The first time was in UKM last year. The event was born during her CM-ship of a BAR B-Melayu C-Tee while being the TGG Bar CM.

The real time SPM was four weeks from Nov 6 Mon to Nov 30 Thu. The third and fourth weeks was rather spaceous though. Just one subject for the third week, and two for the fourth. ASRI and I kept on dancing to the music of the time for the four weeks. 
A farewell to MUGABE, 93, who run Zimbabwe for 37 years after wrestling it (then known as Rhodesia) from White Colonial Rule. I was in England in the early 1980 during the peak of the negotiation which climaxed in an agreement known as Lancaster House Agreement which pave the way for nationwide election with black participation as voters as well as candidates which led to Black-Majority Government of the then Rhodesia which was renamed Zimbabwe. 
ASRI's end of SPM was Nov 30 Thu, in the afternoon. The ICT. With that the Band ended its playing. And no more song to play. BYE SMK-J2. The first song the Band played was in 1991 Jan, but for a two weeks only. A full 5-y concert was from 1998 Jan.

NA was on a free home weekend Nov 24-26 Fri-Sun. So did ALYA, but with her matter, FINALLY, in UPM, and a course to attend in UKM.

CB took ASRI to JB for the Departmental Family Gathering, Dec 1-3 Fri-Sun. On the same day I made a DRVTGG. ASRI, who after the LEGOLAND, dropped by ALYA's place, joined in TGG by air from JB, Dec 5 Tue. 
A short reunion with En Wan Musa, Dr Abdullah, Dec 13 Wed, on the beach of Kalang Maras. Watching the beach being eroded by the pounding waves right to the brink of the road. |
It was raining in TGG from late Nov. Flooding in some places, but a promising intermittant sunshine from early Dec. It's time to give more attention to the house of W-Tengah, the "Rumah Batu". Made a subtle move from Tok Jembal which needs only routine maintenance, especially the perimeter. Filling inside gradually, according to necessity. NA was very delighted, weaving the household works on every opportunity between her last leg of jobs, embedded in the commuting between the Jerteh office and KTRG CT. And ASRI too. Kitchen essentials are now demanding. 
It's been two weeks in TRG, leaving CB alone in SG MERAB. During the time in TRG quite a substantial furnishing was made to the house in W-Tengah, both inside and outside, even though visibly no change appeared apart from the perimeter grass which was trimmed. It's time for a DRVKUL Dec 14 Thu, 3-beranak, with ASRI and NA, stopping in Dungun CT for NA to sort a task. Coasting along the beach road. And a stop over in Temerloh for another patin treat, the same place, and the same eatery we have been here once before. By the river. |

It was ASRI's in phasing up by registering for his driving lessons in AMSA in SG MERAB, Dec 15 Fri, the place started by CB, followed by SB, whereas all others were in MAZRIS in BANGI. His first engagement was Dec 21 Thu. The ceramah, the content of which is for the online test for the L-permit to start the on-the-road lessons.

A mini-Walimah in Malini's place SG MERAB, Dec 16 Sat, for the wedding of her SIL. And the next day Dec 17 Sun, NA AK-hopped to TGG, leaving us 3-beranak for the week days before X-Mas.

Dec 23 Sat, another DRVTGG, this time 3-beranak with ASRI and CB who's leave included the post-X-mas days, while ZIDNI et al were in an accompaniment en route earlier a while before. And started at dawn to beat the possible congestion arising from X-mas break.

It was a rather short TGG stay, but I made the most for W-Tengah home. The internal furnishing included a FRIDGE, which made the house more homely because foods could thus be stocked. NA continued her curtain sewing from the fabric she chose herself. 
Dec 25 Mon, Taking all to visit my maternal relatives in Ngabang Panjang, of late PokLong, my only maternal uncle who survived by a son (Awang/Osman) and a daughter (the younger Melah), and in Kalang Maras of late MokSu Saadiah, the closest cousin of my mother who survived also by a daughter (Memon) and a son (the younger Wadi). 
Dec 26 Tue, DRVKUL, in the late afternoon to avoid the sunset congestion on arrival in MRR2 in case the Merc does not heal the heating ailment it developed during DRVTGG. We were blessed, it delivered successfully, unhitched, and even skipped the LPT2. However the hauler-loaded Ajil-Jabor route took nearly an hr more of the bench-mark 6 hr. 
On returning from TGG, Nissan went through a major service in Lee Auto, Dec 28 Thu, and furnished by POMEN MAN Sg Tangkas Dec 30 Sat. All were about the engine. The latter was the alternator which replaced the one on the fateful day in 2010 Jun in Temerloh. 
NA was at home in SG MERAB in the final weekend of 2017, AK-arriving on Fri morning, a rare free weekend in Sg Merab home. And thus a short frolics among available ank-cu2. 
Perhaps the year end is best marked on the very last day of 2017, Dec 31 Sun, by ASRI's first made through in BANGI MyEG in the morning, after he missed Dec 28 Thu due to overcrowding. And NA's re-AK-hop back to TGG in the evening. Jan 2018 KUL-TGG has yet to be chartered. NA and ASRI are equally the variables. |
