Once a teacher, a teacher for life: Dato' Mohd Ghazali Mohd Hanafiah. A teacher he was, all his active life. From 1969 early as the Assistant Head Master of Sekolah Alam Shah, Cheras Road, Kuala Lumpur. Then the Head Master, to 1970 May 31. I was in the school from 1967 Jan to 1970 Dec. Even though I was the HB 1970, we were not very close to each other then, but each of us charted and checked our own fated "devine" path. To cross again in 2008.
And deeper 2009 Nov 7-10, during his private re-visit to Terengganu to reflect on the days he was the Education Chief 1973-1975 (my end of studying years in UKM, then continued in England). He waded through with many changes in Education. One in Alam Shah in which I was his "gauntlet". Carrying the "emblem" of maximum education opportunity for the rural children. The needy and the potential especially. To be able to READ, to WRITE, and to COUNT. In their own nature of mother-tongue language.

Teachers Training College in Terengganu, 2009 Nov 7 Sat
Which were DTC and RTC in the early 1960's days. Especially the former which was in Pasir Panjang. [D for Daily, R perhaps for Regional]. Many teachers in Terengganu were trained here, on daily basis like a school. In the 1970's Teachers Training Colleges were augemented and restructured. DTC was relocated to a new and bigger campus. In a remote place then was unwanted wasteland in Wakaf Tengah. The hinterland of fisherman community near Mengabang Telipot. It was named Maktab Perguruan Kuala Terengganu. Then Institut Perguruan in the 2000's. And Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG), Kampus Kuala Terengganu. Then 2008, the campus was renamed Kampus Dato' Razali Ismail.
A Guest at the Terengganu Education Expo 2009, Kuala Terengganu, Nov 8 Sun
Uninformed. The Expo was 2009 Nov 8 Sun. I informed the Education Chief of the visiting ex-Education Chief to the schools. A matter of courtesy to go into his territory. He was delighted and pleaded to have him attended to occupy the row of ex-chief right behind the guest of honour, the CM. The presence in the expo was purely a devine intervention. That apparently had made the visit to the school assisted and attended. Many who knew him that he could not know gathered to meet him after the occasion.
Hostel for the Primary School
CheGu's concern was the poor and remote children in Ulu Terengganu, Ulu Dungun, and Ulu Setiu, who had to walk far to the schools, or coasting along the river in rowing boats. That many parents conceded that not going to school was the optimal solution. Bulding the Hostel was a solution. Gathering potential children from several remote districts in a hostel of a suitable school. He managed three in the state. One for SK Tengkawang in Ulu Terengganu, SK Kuala Jengal in Ulu Dungun, and in SK Kg Buluh in Setiu. Eventually became the only primary schools in Peninsular to have the hostels.
