A Week Full of Submissions | Dated 2016G Oct 11 Tue 10 Muharram 1438H |
Alya was offered the job of RO, from the IV she went in UTM, Skudai. She had quite a difficult time to decide to take up the new one, or stay with MAS. Salary-wise the former was more attractive, but I told her that the job may just be laced with full of smilies. CB was similarly offered a job in USIM, Nilai, from the IV he went last week. He was rather reluctant to leave the JOMFIX in BB Bangi for several reasons, the main one was the sincerity of his boss with whom he set up the Mac-fix w-shop, and who happened to be ZIDNI's primary school-mate. However, salary-wise, and job prospect-wise, his boss has no choice, but to let CB go. ASRI's welfare was in every one's eye, his school timings, and especially his examination year next year 2017. It's timely to return to TGG again, MH KUL-TGG, Oct 5 Wed, on ALYA's concessionary privilege, for the first time (after NA last Oct 2 Sun on a business seat). 2016 Oct 8 Sat 7 Muharram 1438H, at wee hr, ALYA forwarded a w-msg that Zaini Hamzah passed away (made known later) in his office in UiTM Shah Alam. I started to know Zaini as one of my pupils in Second College UKM in 1973 in GAMMA-2 Class of KELAS ASUHAN MARA programme, but mostly we were together in SALFORD, UK, in the 1980's, during which his wife SHAM, and AZIZAH were close friends, and was extended closer in the homeland throughout our times since then. That was after we spent a night in Sri Manja, IM, Pahang for NA's case on Friday. Oct 11 Tue 10 Muharram 1438H, on MH 1335 TGG-KUL 1605, again on ALYA's concessionary privilege, I returned to SG MERAB for the waiting lots. All have no option but to submit. I was given my favourite 4A seat. The take off was sea-wards, giving a rare spectacular view of the coast line of northern Terengganu. Perhaps this is my last business-class flight. There would be no more reason after this. |
On boarding, I noted the Uztaz-Mutawif who was our guide during umrah last Mar. And also HJ ROZI MAMAT, the TELEMONG YB, hi-ing both after disembarked. Both remembered me very well, the latter, we met and talked a few times, one was 2009 end. I told him that I am no longer with Uniza, since the last two and half years, to which he said, that I could helped him, which I took it as a casual politician response since he didn't bother to update my name. |

The 6-TH Degree Conferment | Dated 2016G Oct 24 Mon 23 Muharram 1438H |
It was Oct 22 Sat, for Syarbini, in Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Kuala Terengganu. Its 8-th. Went in, for the first time since leaving the place in 2014 Feb, and thus to be in the hall was a waste of time. Instead, I lingered on with my ghosts around the place. Ostensibly, with the old pals of my favourite. The base staff. NA proactively accompanied, and Zidni et al too, all the way from KUL for his brothers and sisters. It was a gloomy day, pre-monsoon, cloudy, but was blessed with a rainless. It's six sessions in three consecutive days Sat to Mon. CB was in the first session. I was told since early in the morning, that Pro-Chancellor would proceed in Chancellor place. It was a day that never has been, and never will be. Nonetheless, in the period, it's worth a mention of being hi-ed by some old pals, just the way it was. Perhaps this would be my last waltz in the place after a short eventful encounter since 2007 Jul. Like in UKM, many that I knew are themselves feeling getting loosen as well from the place. There is no reason to be here again, let the ghosts of my forefathers who used to roam in this place during the time it was a savannah, before a college was built, have an eye on it. |
Starting a New Routine | Dated 2016G Oct 31 Mon 30 Muharram 1438H |
Undoubtably trying hard to comprehend the beauty of them, and the best part of them. The Dewali break, pivoted around Oct 29 Sat, plus extended school break from Oct 28 Fri to Nov 1 Tue, was the first to run through. It was a great break in TGG. Plus one day-trip to Jerteh including a duku-dokong plucking. And a short visit the 'legacy' town-place, the Pasar Payang. Oct 30 Sun, I had a chance to stroll Pasar Cabang Tiga, and Pasar Payang, the legendary market places of the 60's. The former, since moving to a new site is in a very pity state. By half day, it's dead. The latter was still a merry place, but it depended so much on occasional visitors. The fish section is in rigor mortis long time ago, the high price made it not worth visited. The trishaw riders steadfast in adhering to their forefathers way of niche were hard as ever. Their hopes were stony hard. Never lost hope. Whatever they earned that day, it's solidly blessed. |

Jenahak From Selat Melaka | Dated 2016G Nov 30 Wed 30 Safar 1438H |
I fished in Selat Melaka only once, ex-Port Klang, during the days with Rashidi, in the mid-KBSM years from 1988. He retired from UKM a year earlier than me in 2006, making the Selat Melaka his new 'office'. But my son Muzani does very frequently, and he made it in many occasions, with his acquaintances of LPP-PPK-based, including this latest one, ex-Pasir Panjang. |
And DRVTGG back on 30 Wed, with ASRI, to join NA who had been comm-ing that the rain had been falling for several days already, and it's wet and watery all over the place. Monsoon is in the East Coast already for this year 2016, even there were img in the net of flooding in certain areas. |
The Monsoon Started in TGG | Dated 2016G Dec 7 Wed 7 R-Awal 1438H |
A week in TGG from the very first day of Dec with the weekend Fri-Sat in the middle. And almost a week in the monsoon rain fall, sans flood though. Made some progress in W-Tengah house. Dec 2 Fri RIPIN came to view the house to continue on my next return, targeted Dec 12. Dec 5 Mon, BUKHARI et al came over the take the measurements to make the wardrobe in Room-1, and some kitchen cabinets. In the while I managed to start making the shelves in the u-store, important to keep the tools and hardwares, so that I could progress, infinitesimally. |

Dec 6 Tue, DRVKUL with ASRI. The weather was fine all the way, despite the misty start in Tok Jembal. All roads were dry, and thus averting the LPT2 toll by passing through Muktafi-Jabor. It was very sunny in Pahang. And in KUL, surprisingly the traffic too, especially on MRR2. |

The other consignment was thus the shelves in the u-store which is a necessity. It would take time to evolve from planing the frame bar, making the notches, and lay-ing the bar in places, and finally painted. Progresses were made. Some how a 'technology' for making the notches is needed. And I have been thinking one to try. In the next hands-on. Dec 17 Sat, NA took to see SAIFUDDIN, her fellow lawyer who specialised in land division etc, to get advised on the SG MERAB re-lotting. I met his wife, a UMT lecturer, in AWANA KIJAL in an MTDC w-shop in 2007. After about an hr of 'hearing', his pcs of advise was that the matter is not stressful at all, and the nicest was that no such thing as demolition. Dec 22 Thu, visited Jabat Agama Hulu Langat near SR-Integrasi for details to get the PERMISSION, to be told that it should be done in SALAK TINGGI since we are SEPANG residence, where, all four of us, the pemohon, wali, and the two saksi ZIDNI and MUZANI, accompanied by NA visited on Dec 23 Fri. It was an eye-opening to note that all staff of the Jabat Agama were ladies including the Pendaftar who initially reluctant to approve because I didn't go via the local Timbalan who she said is appointed by the SULTAN, but later when I argued that why the need to since I take with me all the souls live in front of her and she's above the Timbalan, she has no rebuttal to refuse. And with that DONE the docs thing. Of course I need to see and invite the Timbalan too since he's the one who would overseer the Akad. Dec 24 Sat, every one returned to TGG, except ALYA who opted to stay at home saying she has a lot to do about her MSc Thesis, and of course SB who's in Germany. It was on my suggestion to ank2 that it's time to do a deed to their mother would be very proud of. To clean the backyard of their mother's mother house in PAYA DATU, so thick that last season it was impenetrable to pluck the fruits, and the growth which has now reached the wall of the kitchen. It was on Dec 25 Sun, the day the weather was on our side. It was sunny, sandwiched between two consecutive rainy days. Nonetheless, the objective was partially achieved. The backhoe came only half days, and the piles of debris still needed to be treated manually. |
NA returned to SG MERAB Dec 8 Thu late afternoon, and stayed through to Mon DRVTGG in Nissan. During which she led the preparation for the Jan 29 and Feb 19 events, which took us to NILAI SQ, and a weave to Taman Mulia, PAJAM, attending the Walimah of Pok-Man, the caterer. And DRVTGG back on Dec 12 Mon was without ASRI, who opted to stay at home, with CB, in SG MERAB, thus alone most of the time. CB alone was too fragile to manage. His sisters and brothers were alerted. Dec 21 Wed, DRVKUL with NA, with a 'pit stop' in Dungun for NA's small matter. Weather-wise it was fine, and pleasant. Traffic-wise, it was a lull before the final end-of-the-year break this weekend year end. I used Dec 26 Mon to procure in town the materials needed for the Jan 29 Wedding. And finally, Dec 27 Tue, DRV KUL. By Dec 29 Thu every one was in KUL again, except WIRA who stayed in Tok Jembal. It was a family break of the year 2016 end. |
