Dated: 2024 Jul 15 Mon 9 Muharam 1446H |
2024 Jul 1-15 covid, was MCO-F5-56, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was still scary but very quiet. It was infrequently given attention these days. In fact appearing from time to time in the media narrative saying that covid was a global evil scam. MK reported Jul 5, "... The Health Ministry has announced new guidelines that will treat Covid-19 similarly to other respiratory diseases, as the threat of the disease subsides. Beginning July 15, the ministry said it will no longer issue home surveillance orders (HSO) that compel Covid-19 patients to confine themselves to their homes for five days..." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The weather was rather sluggish. Sporadic torrence of rain, weaved with neither hot and sunny. The compound thus could not be scheduly maintained. Jul 9 Tue 3 Muharam 1446H, securing kitchen sundries in ALAMANDA, where we had not been for quite a while then. Noted the quietness of the place, plus notices of shops "renovation". Very much in contrast to the time when it was newly opened. Makan-wise, a plenty were comparable in BBB itself.
![]() ![]() ![]() Jul 15 Mon 9 Muharam 1446H, DRVTGG with NA. Both weather and traffic were excellent all the way, on both LPT-s. In Kemaman, detoured to MokChili for a quick chiro. On proceeding, coasting to Paka, took the IBOK-KIJAL-KEMASIK internal route, noting many new roads-bridges in tandem with ECRL. In Kerteh town singgah one eatery, Warung Tepi Padang-co-Telaga Kopi, for a late lunch. In Paka, detoured to Santong route to re-get LPT2. Home in W-Tengah just before the sun set.

Jul 1 Mon 24 Z-Hijjah 1445H, staying home. Audited the house for the leave. The plants of hopeful were the newly planted baby pisang-nangka x-TJHOME, to start a new cluster of another varity in WTHOME. And the ank-nyior. Some kepok were also secured at Sri Tanjung.
Jul 2 Tue 25 Z-Hijjah 1445H, DRVKUL in TAV with NA. Lalu Dungun, gathering goodies at several pit stops. And get LPT2 at Dungun toll. The drv throughout was in a good weather. And light traffic, including in the notorious MRR2.
Jul 6 Sat 29 Z-Hijjah 1445H, an incomplete gathering of ank-cu2, in sans of Ruby's and Muzani's. Incidentally, SB and Alya et al were on home weekend, which was rather extended in conjunction of new Hijrah Year, 1446H. As always KEK-ING for the Jul-ians.
Jul 13 Sat 7 Muharam 1446H, a mission drv to KL, taking NA for a meeting in the BAR. Noted a completely different KL that had changed. It was not like I used to in the 70-s. But seeing the location in the vicinity brought back the past memories. Jalan Traverse, the Muzium, the Lake Garden, the Post Office, Masjid Negara, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Tugu, The Rail Station, Rumah Persekutuan, and the Padang Merdeka. Jalan Tun Perak and inwards into the heart of KL were sunken by high rise buildings. Comparing to how KL was, it's hard not to remember two buddies. One is since 1964 through the long school-Univ days. Mohd Embong, a once IT manager of DBKL. The other is a SAS-buddy since 1969. Abd Hakim Borhan, a once KL Mayor.

2024 Jul 16-31 covid, was MCO-F5-57, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was rarely given attention these days. In fact appearing in the media narrative saying that covid was a global evil scam. ![]() HOME-TJ needed a lot of attention. Jul 17 Wed 11 Muharam 1446H, managed to mow the eastern, and western sides. The thunderous rain halted to continue the rest. But at night the dinner was in RAHSIA on the favourite FnC.
![]() ![]()
![]() ![]() ![]() Lingering in W-Tengah while NA was in her office to proceed which ever were possible. Noted no-landing in PKB, and very few in PTJ despite a very calm sea. Jul 22 Mon 16 Muharam 1446H, visited Mydin GB. On the way back singgah one eatery, known as Simpang Tiga in W-Baru which lead the J-Airport. This place was observed to have endured for a long time despite its inconveniences resulted from rapid development. We had lunch. To the end we still could not figure out why it was so un-bended to the change. The iron smith turned up. Li by short, the son of my father's aquaintance in Alor Terebor, whose daughter was married to a son of my cousin in the 80-s, whose akad I attended in Pasir Tinggi, because the Imam was known to encourage the wali himself to akad his daughter. Noted KAMAL was warded in HSNZ from a snap while in an eatery this morning. We visited him at night in Tok Jembal, Jul 23 Tue 17 Muharam 1446H. Apparently it was not a serious snap, it was a jovial visit together with Mohtar-Zu.
Jul 27 Sat 21 Muharam 1446H, after subuh, fetched SB depan KUZA on SANI ex-iKEROH. And in the evening at the same place fetched CB on D-IMAN ex-KAJANG. While waiting for CB, worked with SB to fix the washing machine which was effluent-leaking. SB accomplished his mission on Sun 28, and revered-SANI-ed at night. Jul 29 Mon 23 Muharam 1446H, DRV-JERTIH 3-beranak with CB. The task was mowing in T-BUGIS as deriang had started falling. IDI was engaged in driving the mower. The task was accomplished even though the job was still to be refined. CB reversed-D'IMAN-ed in the morning of Jul 31 Wed 25 Muharam 1446H.
|
Jul 16 Tue 10 Muharam 1446H, went to both PKB and PTJ, but no landing, even passing by Kalang Maras, and Suhada. Irony! The sea was very calm even though rather cloudy. Nonetheless we were blessed with a tandan of serendah in Sepetir. Two more were in the Q.
A quick visit to JjABAT TANAH in Kompleks Darul Iman, Jul 18 Thu 12 Muharam 1446H, to update NA's matter in hand. HOME-WT equally needed some attention.
Jul 20 Sat 14 Muharam 1446H, a DRV-JERTIH, mainly to see the upcoming musim-buah come Sep-Oct. The itinerary was nasi-dagang, P-Panjang, T-Bugis, P-Rimau, and home-wards. Noted the thick undergrowth in T-Bugis, and P-Rimau. The former needed some attention since some deriang were up high on the tree. Other fruits were not so noted.
Jul 24 Wed 18 Muharam 1446H, DRV-JERTIH again. The main task was to get P-RIMAU in a descent clean by the help of IDI. In the while, a high hope for an harvest of kelat, keeping an eye on young plants. Jul 31 Wed 25 Muharam 1446H, finalising things to be on leave for KUL. And especially the drv was to drop-by in Jertih for some fresh deriang. Then from KL-ward by Gua Musang. Accompany-ed NA to furnish a short matter in the Court. Then in EPF nearby, NA has a serious matter to advance. On homeward, dropped by rojok Batu Buruk, Roti Abdullah, and in both PTJ and PKB. No landing in the former. There were some landings in the latter, but too hustling to acquire some. One last job in WT-HOME. Patching the hole at the pagar through which the feral entered menacing the anak-pisang.

The Awaited August |
Dated: 2024 Aug 15 Thu 10 Safar 1446H |
2024 Aug 1-15 covid, was MCO-F5-58, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was very quiet now. ![]() Aug 3 Sat 28 Muharam 1446H, 5-beranak attending a walimah in Bangi Ave, that of Dr Rohaida, a NA's UM buddy. She's currently a UKM law lecturer.
Aug 4 Sun 29 Muharam 1446H, tagging SB DRV-iKEROH, with NA and CB being behind his BKD. Seeing SB newly engaged rental house in Durian Tinggak where he'll start his next-phase of life from Oct. Then seeing the location the unit he had booked in KESANG, Jasin, expected to be ready in 2026. Seeing also his soon-to-move-out living-Q in iKeroh, where he stays since being employed in COHU in 2021. In one hop, drove through the UTEM Campus, for the first time in this campus. The campus was rather impressive. One of my UKM buddies, a hostel room-mate, Azahari, a Melaka-ian, passed on while he was not long in here on no-3 seat, being on the move from UTM.
Aug 11 Sun 6 Safar 1446H, a walimah in EVO, off PKNS. That of the wedding of daughter of JAN-ROHIM, #1daughter of MokChik-Num. EVO had become a Bangi landmark, replacing PKNS which is now invisible. A stroll at a close range in EVO reminded of a similar state in KTCC.
Aug 15 Thu 10 Safar 1446H, DRV-JERTIH. The main task was the deriang. This was the end of this year season, especially in T-Bugis. The pisang in P-Rimau were doing well. The viral attack was dealt with by themselves.
|
Aug 1 Thu 26 Muharam 1446H, another mission drv, DRV-JERTIH-GUAMUSANG-KUL. Especially a rather long stop in Jertih. Weather-traffic-wise were fine, except that the nearly 2-h tagging behind cargo-lorries on single lane road from Pdg Tengku exit, circling K Lipis to the SPINE entry, bypassing Raub, Bentong. Alas, it was only half an hr ride to Bentong toll on MTD. Thus Gua Musang 1710 to Sg Merab 2117 was ca 4 h. It was ca 2.5 h from P-Panjang 1340, to GM RR 1625.
Bracing Sg Merab home for coming event of Sep 14 Sat. Many occasions had taken place here since the wedding of #1,2 in 2002 Aug, the place vic appeared getting smaller and smaller. Currently, the rain fall on alternative evening. Aug 9 Fri 4 Safar 1446H an update briefing among ank2 more or less decided the major items.
Aug 12 Mon 7 Safar 1446H, DRVTGG in TAV with NA, proceeding SB DRV-iKEROH. TAV had a hitch of rear brake after a hundred m setoff. Detoured to FLEXI in Sect-7 to get it fixed. In the while visited ank2 Dr Jamil in Sect-8. Re-setoff at zohor time. Both weather, and traffic were favourable. Refuelled in Temerloh, refreshed in Gambang and TnG topap in Paka. Home in Sepetir at sun-set. This DRVTGG would include the Aug 31 Sat event in TER.
Aug 13 Tue 8 Safar 1446H, getting on with TRG chorus. NA started with her h-works from Sepetir. The mower was fetched from Guan Da, with the clutch replaced, and on later testing it performed at its best both using the line as well as the blade by which the deteriorating performance was very apparent. But the most was FISHING in PKB. It was a plenty of landings. And in PTJ as well. As always the house needed some attention with regard to the weeds, and the feral menaces.

The August E-Day |
Dated: 2024 Aug 31 Sat 26 Safar 1446H |
2024 Aug 16-31 covid, was MCO-F5-59, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. ![]() Aug 18 Sun 13 Safar 1446H, A lucky day, FISHING. A 12kg cobia bapok was available in ASSALAM, plus some more in PKB and PTJ. The lots were enough to fill TJHOME fridge.
Aug 21 Wed 16 Safar 1446H, DRV-SETIU for an impromptu makan nasi t-hari in rumah Abg Par. KakTi-Hub, KakEsah-Nor arrived just before us. The star menu was tupat-sutung.
Aug 24 Sat 19 Safar 1446H, DRV-JERTIH. The first stop was pasar Jertih for some kitche sundries. Primary objective was to harvest the kelat in P-Rimau. But dropped also in T-Bugis and P-Panjang for any reminder of deriang. It was in the former, but in the latter, being both AbgJamil, and AbgRod, and the host KakTi present, it was just a cordial visit. The kelat in P-Rimau was eventually harvested, fully ripened already on the tree. Plus some moktam, being helped tutoh by Samso. At WT-HOME in the evening, NA's close buddy Salwa-Syed visited. And at night Muzani et al dropped by to put up after a meeting in Kota Bharu.
Aug 26 Mon 21 Safar 1446H, late evening, accompany-ing NA for a second visit to KTCC for exclusively biskut matters. Noted again the glaring absolute empty-ness of the chicken shop against the merry-ing visit in other eateries. It was dark already when we conceded. Singgah Masjid Seb Takir.
Aug 28 Wed 23 Safar 1446H, smayang subuh in Masjid Kuza, while fetching SB on D-Iman ex-Sg Merab. With that, count down of E-Day Aug-31 started.
Ruby et al, sans Aidah though, arrived Aug 29 Thu 24 Safar 1446H evening, settled in TJHOME. Alya et al arrived on the early hr of Aug 30 Fri 25 Safar 1446H, settled in WTHOME. CB-ASRI setoff from Sg Merab in the morning. Zidni et al setoff ca the same time. The former arrived in WT-HOME just before asar, and the latter, a little later, settled in the vic of TER, the E-DAY site. Malini et al, sans Munif, setoff at mid-day, and when arrived settled in TER, rendv-ed with SB who opted to stay at the site for his tomorrow big E-DAY. PokJo et al setoff later than Malini, also settling in TER where Alya et al joined for the night at the villa. The latest setting off was Muzani et al, at night, arriving in TJHOME at the wee hr of Aug 31 Sat 26 Safar 1446H. Aug 31 Sat 26 Safar 1446H, the E-DAY in TER K IBAI. The wedding akad of SB, and the bride reception.

Aug 16 Fri 11 Safar 1446H, Jumaat in Masjid Lipot, the Masjid by the very beach. The most comfortable Masjid for jumaat by far, until very recently when it was fully ekon-ed. The sea breeze in the afternoon was a luxury by the nature, it swept through all doors cooling to comfort every one of the packed jemaah. It aired every jemaah through out. When it was ekon-ed, all doors were closed, the luxury breeze stayed outside. At khutbah time when the Masjid was full, the 36 degree human heat overcome the 23 degree ekon. The still air sweetened many jemaah. Pity, the comfort of nature was refuse-ed. The cool breezy un-ekon-ed air was there for many years, no one ever heard of a saying of uncomfortable. There is then a need for extra fund for the electricity bill to run the ekon. And it's quite a substantial. A pity indeed.
Aug 19 Mon 14 Safar 1446H, in Jjabat Tanah Marang again accompany-ing NA. The mission was not well accomplished, the khaning said the online payment sisteng was down since yesterday. OTW home met Dr Abdullah, in RAHSIA. As always when passing Batu Buruk at right time, GHOJOK Nurul Iman tepi kubur and ROTI ABDULLAH depan KTS were not to be missed.
![]() ![]()
![]() ![]() TJHOME was mowed for ank2 comfort for the E-DAY of the nearing August 31 Sat.
Aug 25 Sun 20 Safar 1446H, another trip to MARANG. NA's mission in Jabat Tanah, accomplished. Plus a rendv with En Abid to liaise the E-DAY of Aug-31. Noted the massive construction over Sg Marang. The new bridge cum flyovers. Ikan Bakar Bukit Tunggal was visited at night, preceding Muzani's DRV-BANGI. Needed to check the notes on the last visit. Strangely, we were the only customer for the night. It closed when we left.

Concluding E-Day |
Dated: 2024 Sep 15 Sun 11 R-Awal 1446H |
2024 Sep 1-15 covid, was MCO-F5-60, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was very quiet indeed. ![]() Sep 3 Tue 29 Safar 1446H, DRVKUL with NA in TAV. Bye-ed SB-HANIS who would linger around for a few days, in both TJHOME and WT-HOME. On NA suggestion, opted the Ajil-Jerangau-Jabor route. Started at Ajil exit from LPT2. Refuelled in Dendang. Passing the nostalgic SELEKOH 5-BERANAK when the mishap of 2008 Sep 4 Thu ca 3 pm, with Dr Abdullah on our weekend-ly DRVKUL, took place. It was in Ramadan. Another nostalgic place was in FELDA NERAM, 2019 Jan 15 Tue ca mid-day, with ASRI, when TV suddenly lost power. Kak-Dah the nearby eatery operator helped in taking in her SUV to Nusi w-shop nearby, who found out the it was the alternator belting that broke and set out to buy in Baserah, and get it done in ca two hrs. This was the last time of passing this route. Back in LPT1 in Jabor. Weather was superb. And traffic too, even in KUL. Home in Sg Merab just before 5. ![]() ![]() Sep 7 Sat 3 R-Awal 1446H, bracing for the Sep-14 E-Day. All available ank-cu2 turned up to warm up the coming Sep-14 E-day. Inch-ing upgrade-ing the state of Sg Merab home. Initially Muzani provided two F-In-helpers to take on the inside house chorus, but as both complained about the job spec, and worked Abu-Nawas style, we released them just before noon. And did it all by ourselves. Muzani took to MZ Global, with Zidni, finalised the catering. Zidni-Muzani teamed up with CB-ASRI, embarked on the TAPONG PPALA JALAN, in initially a drizzling. And this warming up continued to the following day Sep 8 Sun 4 R-Awal 1446H, sans Muzani, and progressively the days that followed right through Sep 13 Fri 9 R-Awal 1446H the eve of the E-DAY. It was a drizzling evening. Nevertheless all were set by 6-30 in the evening. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Sep 1 Sun 27 Safar 1446H, seeing ank2 post E-DAY of Aug-31. Ostensibly all were in KL-ward homeward mission. Zidni et al left as soon as the majlis ended yesterday. CB-ASRI in BKD setoff in the morning x-WTHOME. Malini et al x-TER, in the late morning. ALYA et al setoff in the afternoon x-TJHOME after a pop-in WTHOME after seeing SB-HANIS. She said she's going by Segamat route to JB. RUBY et al setoff in the late afternoon. The latest was MUZANI et al, ca 5 commencing LPT2. Noted later that by 0030, every one was respectively at home. Those passing Karak-Gombak went through quite a congestion.
After zohor DRV-JERTIH. It's rare that we drove to Jertih after zohor. The mission was to harvest a kelat. And accomplished. Nonetheless while in the trip, visited Jertih for the serindit and some sundries. And also TokBugis for any end fall of deriang. Yes there were, and many had already rotten. PPanjang was skipped. Singgah garib in TPapan. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sep 10 Tue 6 R-Awal 1446H, visiting SG BUAH with a scary feeling after being voiced since mid Aug by one local about the land being invaded by the contractor who built the bridge. CB went for a meeting of pecah geran organised by Dr Abdullah Md Nor on Aug 24 Sat, but he missed to notice the mess on the land. NA accompany-ment was a big relief.
Sep 14 Sat 10 R-Awal 1446H, concluding the E-DAY in SG MERAB HOME. The wedding reception of SB. This was the 5th walimah held in Sg Merab. 2002 (#F1F2), 2008 (#M3), 2009(#M4), 2017 (#F5), and 2024 (#M7). MZ catering, a break off from the usual, who was bed-ridden already. We were blessed with a fine weather, and plenty of food for the guests, majority of whom were relatives even beyond cousin.
Sep 15 Sun 11 R-Awal 1446H, settling down the dust, step-wise returning to ground-state. It rained in the morning after a day pause yesterday. Alya, CB, Asri helped NA undoing all the done since up to Sep 14. Ruby popped up alone to lend a hand. Zidni et al, Malini et al, came after noon to help. The khemah-man came but left a half for another day. Alya et al DRV-JB in the evening.

The Dust Settled Down |
Dated: 2024 Sep 30 Mon 26 R-Awal 1446H |
2024 Sep 16-30 covid, was MCO-F5-61, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. ![]() Sep 17 Tue 13 R-Awal 1446H, back to Sg Buah matter. More serious, in Salak Tinggi. CB helped in logistic. First to the Land Office, to get assurance that there was no land acquisition by Jabat Tanah. Then thus moved on to its Penguatkuasa to report the angkut tanah that had taken place. In the same compound went to JKR, enquiring the working irregularities. And finally to IbuPejabat Polis Daerah. It took from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening. Through to Sep 19 Thu 15 R-Awal 1446H IO meeting with the kontrakter.
Sep 21 Sat 17 R-Awal 1446H, DRV-JERTIH. Anxious after ca three week not seeing P-Rimau. It was in a fine weather, redup, and sejuk. Some produce in T-Bugis, but stayed quite a while in P-Rimau, mowing the banana corridor. OTW home rendv-ed with Muzani et al in TIJAMIL MAKOK, he was on the way home from a walimah in Pasir Mas. And thus dinner in Narik beach. ![]() ![]() ![]()
![]() Sep 27 Fri 23 R-Awal 1446H, DRV-JERTIH for missions which were well accomplished. In P-RIMAU to plant new pisang. Lemak manis, and nipah, both benih were from MEK in P-Bubus. And harvested one kelat. In T-Bugis harvesting DUKU-DOKONG. In between jumaat in An-Nur. Home in W-Tengah just before sun set.
Sep 28 Sat 24 R-Awal 1446H, DRVKUL after only ca a week in TRG, among a short stay. It was a rather easy drv, dropping by TJHOME to collect frozen fish, and SEPETIR to harvest a pisang. The cruise on both LPT-s were in a fine weather and easy traffic. KL was dry when we reached Gombak, however a cooling rain welcomed us on arriving in Sg Merab nearing sun set. Ruby, Malini, Muzani et al gathered at night for a duku-dokong spree x-T-Bugis.
Sep 30 Mon 26 R-Awal 1446H, end of Sep Alhamdulillah with all doa-s were answered especially the E-Day of Aug 31, and Sep 14. Took CB to IOI MALL to have Epson upgraded to a newer Canon 2730. Nonetheless, the near obsolete Mac needed not just OS but also hard-ware upgrading too. Monday morning was too early for the city dwellers to congregate in Malls like this IOI. But visually amazing was the eateries being patronised, especially the non-local recipes.

Sep 16 Mon 12 R-Awal 1446H, was a national break of Malaysia Day-61. Doubled with MOWLOAD. Day-2 of post-E-Day. All dust had settled down with final touch up of returning Sg Merab home to its ground-state. And every one too were resetting to ground state. SB-HANIS drv-iKeroh, thus starting their new phase of trial of life with a lot of bless from every one.
Sep 20 Fri 16 R-Awal 1446H, DRVTGG. It was in a fine weather, cloudy and cool. And traffic was light too, even though noted that both RR in LPT1 were rather clouded. This was in the middle of school holiday which started from Sep 14. Reached Sepetir just before asar after a refreshment in Temerloh, and refuelling in Prasing.
Sep 22 Sun 18 R-Awal 1446H, NA started her routine in Sepetir. Thus fishing routine resumed. Started in As-Salam even though in PKB plenty of landings. As well as in PTJ. But the search for a cobia was not yet successful. Muzani et al dropped by in WT-Home on their DRVKUL at night. The few days that followed were filled with routine home-ing. The feral appeared to start menace-ing again.

![]() ![]() Sep 29 Sun 25 R-Awal 1446H, SG BUAH matter again. CB accompany-ed. SB-HANIS tagged. Muzani joined a bit later. Four of them defined our presence in the team-of-4 of Dr Abdullah et al. Fujiah et adikberadik were absent but spoken by PokJali as chaired by the surveyer ADDIE. The talk paused by the need to sort the portion of late Wan Mohamed. The meeting ended with the site visit, including the area of kena ceroboh. Apparently during the Aug-24 meeting in which CB presented, no pencerobohan yet taking place, perhaps it was just retaining wall.
