October Always Autumn |
Dated: 2024 Oct 15 Tue 12 R-Akhir 1446H |
2024 Oct 1-15 covid, was MCO-F5-62, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was very quiet indeed. The last Q of 2024 was perhaps the fastest since the deal of Aug 31 and Sep 14 E-Days done. ![]() Oct 1 Tue 27 R-Awal 1446H, it's time to restock the kitchen. And we went 4-beranak to Cheras. The Lotus, x-Tesco, x-Macro. It was Tue late morning, perhaps premature to forsee it to be in turn on the an x as well. Nonetheless, the food-ct was still fine, and the menus were lower than elswhere equivalent we have had been. But for future restocking, driving up here would not be a wise choice.
In late afternoon another engagement with the Mindar in Sg Buah. This time in the presence of JKR, a young JJ who prepared and spoke confronting a villain, unlike the SGT in IPD who was like sitting on a bench. In the while, descending to ground state at home required some hardware audit. And piece-wise at a time.
Oct 9 Wed 6 R-Akhir 1446H, routine DRVTGG in TAV with NA. The traffic was superb. The weather in KL was fine, but on reaching KT we were welcomed with a shower. It was a breezeless cold at night.
Oct 10 Thu 7 R-Akhir 1446H, FISHING in PKB and PTJ for routine stocking. Plenty of landings, the rush hold the price in place. Currently, Oct, the sea was calm, breezeless, and sunny with sporadic cloudy. Perhaps the calm was a prelude to impending end 2024-2025 early monsoon.
Oct 14 Mon 11 R-Akhir 1446H, DRV-JERTIH on multiple tasks. The primary was nawat NA's maternal uncle AyhDor-Rowi who passed on yesterday. It was brief though. While meeting many cousins during the nawat, NA took one Hadi to show her the location of her SAWAH. Admittedly the view and scenery of the sawah pulled back very hard the childhood memory of both of us. Apparently we grew up in habitats of almost identical, the difference being just the location and time. The bigger task was to locate the batu-peranggan of NA's orchard in P-Panjang, just like in T-Bugis, and in P-Rimau. We managed to locate one, and by evening time to concede, the 2nd one still could not be located. Left for another day. Homeward, singgah Banggol Setiu for a makan nasi, being the last guest of AbgPar for his day of feast of fish.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oct 8 Tue 5 R-Akhir 1446H, a drv to PUSRAWI for NA second specialist visit. CB helped steering TAV. The end part of the visit was a reunion bits of SAS-UKM of the 70's. At home, ASRI said his final sem exam commenced today with IT MCQ, to be followed by FYP presentation Oct 10, a paper on Oct 16, and finally the finale Oct 19.
![]() ![]() Oct 12 Sat 9 R-Akhir 1446H, visiting the pasar pingitan, KEDAI MANIR. The last visit was many many months ago, perhaps this visit was the first in 2024. The market place was as merry as before. Current local produce was DUKU. DOKONG was not so exhibitive, after all it was not a native of this area.
While in Manir, by hp I was informed that TokChikLeran had passed on early this morning. Returned home, fetched NA, drove off to Leran. Singgah Masjid Leran, joined jemaah zohor, followed by solat jenazah. On to Jalan Bukit Kechik, depan Sabasun, the burial site, and it incidentally was next to POK. Noted POK passed on 2007 Apr 6 Fri. TokChik was POK's wife, originated Kubang Parit. Pok Was one of my mother's maternal uncles. TokChik was one of those trust providers my mother tagged to during her entire trial of orphan life. My mother marriage to my father was the matter of her paternal uncles and cousins. In those days we enjoyed the extended family like a habitat of natural symbiosis. The last visit to TokChik was 2015 Feb 19 Thu, 5-beranak, plus Ruby et al in Hiliran, her home, the induk of the very house my father built perhaps in early 1960-s.

Done the Basic |
Dated: 2024 Oct 31 Thu 28 R-Akhir 1446H |
2024 Oct 16-31 covid, was MCO-F5-63, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was very quiet indeed. Monsoon was on the horizon. ![]() Oct 17 Thu 14 R-Akhir 1446H, present in celebrating the persaraan nebor CGT. It was like a walimah. Noted the noises of preparation were since Tue evening. And the persaraan of a primary school teacher was so glamourous.
Oct 18 Fri 15 R-Akhir 1446H, DRVKUL. Everything was on our side. The traffic throughout, even all along MRR2-BESRAYA. And the weather too. A spotty drizzling in Temerloh vic and the RR was a blessing, where we met JAI, TRG BAR C-MAN at the petrol station, riding KL-ward. Pit stopped in PAKA and MARAN. Sg Merab was equally dry when we arrived at 5, despite media coverage of very wet KL-Selangor. Sign were that it's been no downpour in the last couple of days in Sg Merab. The epilog of E-DAY Sep 14 had fully returned to g-state, sans SB every Fri-Mon home weekend.
Oct 19 Sat 16 R-Akhir 1446H, ASRI last paper in IUKL for a degree in ICT DESIGN. When he returned home in the evening, he was jovial with umi at the table in the kitchen. He said his last job was binding the FYP script. ASRI first registered in IUKL 2019 Mar 27 Wed for a dip course. He grad-ed, and convo-ed 2022 Sep 10 Sat 13 Safar 1444H. And immediately continued into a degree course in the same area of ICT. With this, it's done the basic to each of the eight in the following order. UKM (2001), Cantab (2003), Tulsa (2005), UPM (2007), UPM (2013), UNISZA (2015), Osna (2020), IUKL (2024).
In absentia, Sg Buah matter popped up again, purportedly as commn-ed, JKR wanted to see all the eleven owners of the lot. For what, I could not fathom. But the smell was not even of a wild blossom. In the bg was the wa-msg-ing about the pampasan, yo-yo-ing 120H-250H-150H-200H fortunately final by Oct 21 Mon 18 R-Akhir 1446H.
Oct 23 Wed 20 R-Akhir 1446H, went to Mydin Diplomatik, 3-beranak with CB, on routine re-stocking the kitchen. Met JAMALUDDIN DAUD on their routine stocking as well. Over the veg stall in Mydin, scrolling the memory since 1967 in SAS Cheras through UKM, the UK, and back to UKM, was really a brief of the brief. He was one of our undisputable acquaintances over the long years of career journey from school to retirement. A drop in one BISTRO on the way home was more of an amusement seeing two robot-waiters in service, for the three times price of the order in an ordinary kandary. Oct 25 Fri 22 R-Akhir 1446H, Alya 3-beranak arrived x-JB for the home weekend, she said departed after m-night last night. Oct 26 Sat 23 R-Akhir 1446H, NA had a BAR program of BERBALAS PANTUN in USIM in which she was a jury, unlike before, she was an AJK staff. She was delivered and fetched. In the evening, as always, a KEK-ING gathering, mainly for the Oct-ians. All ank-cu2 were in including SB-HANIS arriving in the morning from iKEROH, sans only Arifah in Unimap, Farhan in JB, and Alimah with her buddies. All were settled by evening, including Alya, on DRV-JB. SBHANIS DRV-iKEROH the next day Oct 27 Sun 24 R-Akhir 1446H. Oct 29 Tue 26 R-Akhir 1446H, routine DRVTGG, on DEWALI toll-free day, today and tomorrow. Citizen were bracing for chaotic h-way comes Oct 31 Thu Dewali. Nonetheless, both LPT-s, including MRR2 were calm. And the weather was fine too, except as always during this season, some drizzling in northern Kemaman, Dungun. And a wet post-rain welcomed us on home-arriving. In TJHOME the next day, noted the perimeter, including the plants, needed a lot of attention. The sea appeared very calm, but the landing in PKB was scarce.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oct 21 Mon 18 R-Akhir 1446H, a riding spree, 4-beranak to Seremban from 11 to 7 in the evening. The first task was The Rimba. This was for the second time. Ruby joined for the makan from her office in USIM. On to Seremban-2. Masjid Hussain. NA ejected to NS Bar for a road show talk by the BAR. In the while three of us strolled AEON nearby. The final task was the Masjid Seri Sendayan. And on home-ing, with an early dinner in Nilai LB.
![]() ![]() Oct 31 Thu 28 R-Akhir 1446H, was Malaysia break of DEWALI. DRV-JERTIH. The mission was to furnish the pevious mission of locating the batu-peranggang of NA's P-Panjang orchard, the continuation of the Oct 14 Mon mission. The main tool was the CHENSO to clear the debris of chopped branches that covered the anticipated loci. Nonetheless for the hrs from ca 11 to after asar, the elusive stone was not seen. Triangulation was done a few times. And each time, the loci argumentatively enlarged. Gave up for another day. Perhaps the figures in the pelan, both the pre-ssaker and post-ssaker needed to be re-elucidated. It was dark at night when we were home-ed.

The Monsoon was Honking |
Dated: 2024 Nov 15 Fri 13 J-Awal 1446H |
2024 Nov 1-15 covid, was MCO-F5-64, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The Monsoon was honking sporadically in the distant. ![]() Nov 2 Sat 30 R-Akhir 1446H, another walimah, in town, in the dewan of J Sutan Omar that of NA's court acquaintances since her career beginning. Incidentally the groom was an Imam in Raudah Sect-3 of PokJo and Edi acquantancy. On the way home TAV met an ill-fate. The fan belt tore up right in front of KMI. Limping in search of a pomen. Eventually found one opposite of Grand Cont J Tanjung. Waited. Commuting to Surau Hj Awang of Tanjung Kapur. It was a wait of 1344 to 1800. The surau reminded me of 1965 visit to the late CG Halim Hassan, in the vic, taken by his younger brother Md Nor Hassan, a year senior, who was my close friend in Padang Midin early years. Noticed something while in Surau Hj Awang. An old big well with a lever-bar by which the water could be fetched in a big bucket. The counter weight at the other end of the bar helped the operator. I remembered during my growing up time, one such set up was in the old all-wooden mosque of Masjid Kalang Arang.
Fishing started Nov 3 Sun 1 J-AWAL 1446H. In PKB it was said that the LORI had rarely appeared. However, at the other end, at the misc stalls, plenty of fish, apparently brought from as far as Penarik. It was very quiet in PTJ. Nov 4 Mon 2 J-Awal specifically attended to TJHOME which needed a perimeter care. The following two days, Tue-Wed, accompany-ed NA in care-ing AdikKakZi all the way from JB to clear her matter in the court. NA accomplished it well on Nov 6 Wed 4 J-Awal in the M-Court, then being picked up by an ank-sedara to Jertih for a good day rest and night sleep. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Nov 1 Fri 29 R-Akhir 1446H, driving WLU solo to Ketapang bazaar the first thing in the morning. Had not been here for years, since the much nearer Maras bazaar could well serve the Fri morning needs. Nonetheless, the fish was as tempted as in Manir bazaar. AbgJak et al dropped by on their way home from Panji Alam fam-day, just before jumaat. Ended the day with a walimah of UKM x-student Bukhari in Ngabang Telung. His last Feb 11 similar event at the same place was also attended.
![]() ![]() ![]() Nov 11 Mon 9 J-Awal 1446H, a drv to Kala Berang, accompany-ing NA to extract a land doc. Visited Pasar Tani, and homeward by hinterland Kuala Telemong. ![]()
Nov 12 Tue 10 J-Awal 1446H, a DRV-JERTIH, a rather early pre-routine DRVKUL. All tasks were accomplished in P-Rimau, notably a super full-spec kelat-siam, and a pull of ubi-kayu, plus a bonus of selective mowing, but in P-Panjang, the batu-peranggang still failed to get located. Home at dark. In the following few days, the WT-Home was kept for the leave.

The Flood of November End |
Dated: 2024 Nov 30 Sat 28 J-Awal 1446H |
2024 Nov 16-30 covid, was MCO-F5-65, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Covid was really very quiet indeed. Monsoon was honking sporadically on the horizon. In TRG the sky was always cloudy, rainy in the evening or in the wee hr. By Nov end the flood ravaged Kelantan and Terengganu. Tens of thousands were evacuted. In Sg Merab, non-rainy evening was sporadic although afternoon was always under scorching heat. ![]() Sg Merab home was rather quiet. Nov 17 Sun 15 J-Awal 1446H A quick gathering of #1d, #2d, #3s in the evening for pisang-goreng feast x-PRimau. Nov 19 Tue 17 J-Awal 1446H. A visit to Pasar Bangi, shocked by the santan price of 19rm/kg from our last visit ca 1 month ago, 13rm/kg. Followed by a nasi-dagang in Masjid Hasannah. Um um, ok with a bonus of an acquaintance with the seller, Yus, who said his home residence was in J-Golf in the vic of Sempoi. Instant lunch date with Dr Abdullah, and CheLloh in the lauk-flooded Cantik, S-15. In the while weaved with tidy-ing the periphery of SMHOME. Noted the missing singkong in the orchard, traces were neither signs of feral menaces, nor the intimidating kera.
Nov 23 Sat 21 J-Awal 1446H, Alya has a booth to co-man in Putrajaya, leaving Adam-s to be accompany-ed. Ruby brought Afiah to accompany from the afternoon to the day end. SBHANIS drv-iKeroh in the morning. Visited the evening so-called Pasar Malam in Tenera, with every body noted of being swarmed by non-M-sian speaking visitors, quite a fraction of the sellers included. And another visit Nov 24 Sun 22 J-Awal 1446H morning the so-called Pasar Tani, which was rather dearer, and thus less getting attracted. Nontheless the homemade roti was attractive. Alya-3-beranak drv-JB just after b-fast.

Nov 16 Sat 14 J-Awal 1446H, DRVKUL after a rather long 18 days of absence from Sg Merab. Carried missions though. One in Dungun, visiting Zali, a TGG buddy perhaps since Y1 school, through out, and one of very up to date regulars in Alumni PM 67-68. And another in Kemaman. The walimah of a NA's close buddy, the wedding of her #3daughter. Weather-wise in TRG was excellent, sunny and hot. But very contrasted on Titiwangsa, both sides were wet. Eastward, it started just after Temerloh. Westward it was wet all the way to Sg Merab. However, in spite the wet, the traffic was clear all the way, and unexpectedly on MRR2. It was dark when we reached home.
Nov 22 Fri 20 J-Awal 1446H, a KEK-ING DAY, for ASRI tomorrow BD-24. ALYA-3-beranak, returned in the wee hr, and SBHANIS at near sun-set. Others gathered in the evening through to the night. All were in except Arifah, Aidah, Farhan, for obvious reason, and Niza of work-related engagement.
Nov 26 Tue 24 J-Awal 1446H, 4-beranak, went to MYDIN P-Diplomatik for a routine kitchen stock up. And ending with a treat of beriyani-gam off Uniten Stalls.
![]() ![]() Nov 30 Sat 28 J-Awal 1446, noted in the media in TRG and Kelantan the monsoon had turned to flood and raging with ten of thousands had been rescued to temporary shelters. Sunken roads, and houses under the water. Jertih was effected as much as always. And in a lesser coverage in Kedah too. Media sources for WT-HOME was limited. In the past, TJHOME, and SPT-HOME were not harmed. |
A Cold December |
Dated: 2024 Dec 15 Sun 13 J-Akhir 1446H |
2024 Dec 1-15 covid, was MCO-F5-66, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Dec commenced with a raging monsoon causing the sinking of the roads and houses in the east coast. It was a cold early Dec when the flood subsided. ![]() Dec 2 Mon 30 J-Awal 1446H, delivered NA to the BAR COUNCIL in down town KL. She was to witness the vote counting of the Council Election in which she was a candidate. NA returned home by MRT, fetched in Kajang. The full results were posted by mid-night, she scaled 27th/42 candidates for the 16 seats contested garnering 1591/6579/6713/24262 votes casted; cff 3036 for the victor.
Dec 3 Tue 1 J-Akhir 1446H, DRVTGG. The traffic was clear throughout, in a cloudy day through out. Spotted rainy in the east coast especially in Kemaman vic. Some places were still sunken with clear signs that they were just recovering. TRG was wet when we arrived in the evening.
Monsoon was subsiding a lot, but many places were still water-logged. The rain reduced to sporadic. The sea was still choppy, but the wind was not so wild. Fish landing had not resumed. The available fish on the stalls were perhaps of the trawling. Dec 4 Wed 2 J-Akhir 1446, dropped by TJHOME, seeing things that needed to be done. At a browse, all were in order. Dec 6 Fri 4 J-Akhir 1446 was unprecedentedly sunny and hot with a blue sky. Most probably only for one day. SABASUN was visited for the routine kitchen stocking.
Dec 7 Sat 5 J-Akhir 1446 DRV-JERTEH. It was a drizzling morning, unlike yesterday, but hopeful for a rain-free in Jerteh. Arrived, excited for the PRIMAU pisang. And unfortunate, the maturing kelat were menaced by virus. THREE tandans were cut off, but managed to harvest one. NA delivered the BANTUAN ex-her Penang colleague in TBugis. No one was in PPanjang, just jengok the BATU site. A meal in Jerteh, in a stall hujung jalan RYP. Finalised in Padang Luas, rumah AbgMurad whose KakZie-Ashraf were OTW to KL. Home before dark.
Dec 9 Mon 7 J-Akhir 1446, DRV-SETIU, for sibling sub-gathering makan-nasi. It was a cloudy rain-less forward drive. Almost all were present. It was raining during homeward drive, the rain of flood-quality, especially on exiting Setiu, entering KNerus. Proceeded to J-Pusara, home-delivering AbgMil-Mem. Home-ed at sun set. The cloudy wet day continued with sporadic drizzling.

Dec 1 Sun 29 J-Awal 1446H, drove to RAWANG 4-beranak, attending walimah of the wedding of the late PokMat's daughter, his balu said the last. In attendence was also MokTeh the balu of the late AyhTehZaini. Both PokMat and AyhTeh family were with us from late 1976 in Damansara Utama during my start of career in UKM, and their beginning of courageous move from Trg to KL. Both made their lives, and both passed away in Damansara leaving respective offsprings. PokLoh, a younger brother of PokMat followed exactly the steps of his elder brother.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dec 15 Sun 13 J-Akhir 1446, another visit to UniFi in bandar, 12th day Unifi-internet down. It was a rather heated arguments with a guy to whom we were passed on to. His effort to implant a convincing promise was not so great, that we gave up to give him a walk over. NA's nephew advice was right in dealing with a break down service. NA has a second plan in bandar, in particular in LERAN depam Masjid. Popped-in PAYANG, updating the market never-end site. The gulai ayam pencen was nostalgic. Hala balik singgah TJHOME for a resuscitation. Singgah Sepetir. Noted that finally the INTERNET RETURNED, after 12 days down.

2024 Dec 16-31 covid, was MCO-F5-67, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The flood was residing, but still bracing for the Monsoon bless. In TRG the sky was always cloudy, rainy in the evening or in the wee hr through to the morning. Flood in Pahang and Johor were sporadically noted in the media. Alya 3-beranak arrived for the home weekend Dec 20 Fri 18 J-Akhir 1446 first thing in the morning, x-JB in the newly acquired used INNOVA. The day ended with a battle as alarmed by OMRON to the extent of EE. SB-HANIS arrived similarly in the late morning of Dec 21 Sat 19 J-Akhir 1446. For the past many days, evening shower was rather predictable, preventing outside routine. Nonetheless today, Dec 31 Tue 29 J-Akhir 1446 the weather was fine throughout the day. Malini took ud for a b-fast in Anjung Hijau nearby uphill first thing in the morning. After which a visit to U-Mobile Bangi could not alter the plan, apparently the place was just an agent. A superb evening weather let us spent a while care-ing the wild grasses, especially at the immediate back. CB helped. ![]() |
